I don't use Photoshop: what is special about their controls?

Photoshop has a nice interface.
Its controls look like flat controls.. very nice but they're different from some flat controls which I found. For example, the comboBox in photoshop7 is a flatcontrol but different from the fontbox (comboBox) of MsOffice7
