RealTimeMarquee not perfectly smoothly?

Hello Kambiz,

hope you are well, had not post for a longer time.

I had a report from a user that RealTimeMarquee in my neobook plugin does not run perfectly smootly on his WIN7 target PC.

http://www.neosoftware.com/community/vi ... 7&start=15

I tried the original demo from you which come with the component and it shows the same performance as in the plugin.

In fact when I watch it on my slow older single core WIN-XP it has always show this not perfectly equal and smooth movement.

It looks like that it moves equally for amount of pixel and hold then for a millisecond and then moves on smootjly for the next amount of pixel.

This is what my user named 'stuttering'. Any reason for this in RealTimeMarquee?

I think you can reproduce it by setting interval and step to 1 and orientation to moHorizontal. This show it with your demo in a extreme way.

PS: I recently updated my plugin to 3.2 to make sure to use the latest source.

Regards

Hans-Peter

Hello,

Another hint from the neobook forum:

But setting system color depth seems not a real solution to me.

Edit: I did not see this on my WIN XP. 16bit bit looks the same as 32bit

Hi Hans-Peter,

Apparently the Windows high resolution timer is not so accurate and sometimes has delay.
I tried to make some changes to have a smoother animation.
The update is available to download.
